We are delighted that the Donegal News team have received three awards nominations in the upcoming Local Ireland Media Awards.
Chair of the judges, author and broadcaster Alison O’Connor, said: “The awards are all about recognising the very best of the work done in the newsrooms of regional newspapers across the country. The quality shines though in the many entries submitted.”
There are 17 categories in total and the Donegal News has received nominations in three of those categories.
Our Senior Business Development Executive Gary Doherty McClenaghan has had his “24 hours in Dublin” initiative shortlisted in the Best Innovation category. This entry was a commercial collaboration with the editorial department and was a promotional campaign for Donegal Airport.
Our Editor Diarmaid Doherty has received a nod in the Best Community Journalist category for his article “I never got to say goodbye” whilst our News Editor Louise Doyle has been shortlisted in the Feature Journalist of the Year category for her feature “The Good Friday Agreement – 25 Years on for Donegal”.
Everyone at North-West News Group is extremely proud of the team and wish them well. The final winners will be announced at the awards in Mullingar on the 19th September. Good luck to all!
